Welcome to Augenhöhe e.V.!

Augenhöhe is a German non-profit association focussing on the countries of the Middle East (in particular Palestine). Many of us have spent a formative year in this region as part of their own voluntary service, others have a close connection through family and friends. Based on our experience and certain fundamental priciples, we now wish to enable the exchange of volunteers between cultures and to develop educational work. To us, exchange means that through a close cooperation, we want to both receive and send volunteers from and to our partner projects.

In this our name (literally ‘at eye level’) reflects our convictions: We wish to promote social and cultural encounters between people where all are treated as equals, thus creating new individual and social spheres of experience.

Selection Seminar in Marburg

In February, we met, once again, in the beautiful town of Marburg, where wet selected the next generation of AUGENHÖHE-volunteers who want to go to Palestine. In a remote house surrounded by trees and a bit of snow, we had the pleasure of meeting the six very interesting and highly motivated applicants we had invited. Right from the start, the young women grew together as a group and from that developed a very inspiring weekend with stimulating discussions, joint cooking and eating, joyful games and fascinating presentations. All of us enjoyed this weekend very much.
